It was a fun and busy day with pyjamas, carolling with the school and buddies!  Please ask me about all the fun I had today :)  Wishing all our Kindergarten families a safe and relaxing break.  See you all on January 8th! Today we read a story about Pyjama day!  After the story, we designed our own PJ's  - I brought my design home to share with you! It was the last day for AM Kindergarten today - we hope you all have a safe and restful break.   Pyjama Day is TOMORROW -  PM KINDERGARTEN: Friday Dec 22  - PJ Day! (last day before winter break for PM class)  Wear your pyjamas to school. No stuffies please.

Today we learned all about the circle.  We did a shape hunt around the room to see if we could find circles in our every day environment.  What circles can you find at home!? In our visual journals we drew circles and turned them into every day objects like: Pizzas, clocks and plates!  Please ask me what pictures I drew in my journal. Today both AM and PM Kindergarten classes performed their Winter Concerts.  Everyone did such an amazing job.  We are so proud of all the hard work that all the MC's and students put into practicing! There is no specific dress code for our young performers, something nice or festive in their closet is great!  Kindergarten Winter Celebration Performances Kindergarten students will be having mini concerts tomorrow during the day on Wednesday, Dec. 20 ·         The morning classes will perform in the gym at 10:30am ·         The afternoon classes will perform at 2:15pm.  ·         Families are welcome to attend with audience seating beginning at 10:15am and 2:00pm   We have been learning about patterns and that they are all around us. We learned that patterns repeat. They can be colours that repeat, a repeating action or even sound. We created our own patterns on a candy cane today. We then practiced our cutting skills and cut them out and glued them in my journal. Ask me to tell you what pattern...

 Today we learned about the next story element: Setting.  The setting is where the story takes place.  We read another story about the Gingerbread man and talked about where the story might take place.  In our visual journals, we drew and labeled pictures of the setting of the story! Today we had buddies with the grade fours!  It was a an extra special time because we made holiday cards for care homes in our community.  My buddy helped me write a special message and we worked together to decorate the card.  We hope that our cards will bring some holiday cheer and brighten a senior's day :) Here is a sample of our cards.  Please ask me about my card! We made little gift bags today for our special family gift today. We practiced drawing different shapes. Ask me to tell you about the winter concerts we watched yesterday and today for the grades 1-5.
