I can learn about Lunar New Year

We are learning about the Lunar New Year. Today we learned about some of the traditions that people do during this celebration. Ask me to tell you about this holiday. I brought home a special red envelope today. Children will get these lucky red envelopes with money inside to bring good fortune for the new year. 

We learned that there are 12 animals in the Chinese zodiac and our zodiac sign depends on what year we are born. We might be honest like a dragon or funny like a monkey! We learned that we were born in the year of the dog and that people born in this year are loyal, ready to help others, and friendly. You can check out this zodiac calculator to find out what animal each of our family members are.

Valentines Day

If your child would like to send cards in, we ask them to bring in a card for every child in their class on Wednesday February 14. Please leave the "To" section blank and just have your child sign their name after "From". This will make it much easier for distribution. These are the number of students in each class. Thank you

  Hello families and welcome to our kindergarten blog! We will be updating this blog daily with what we have been working on and important information and updates about our class. Please check it regularly as this is our main form of communication with you. This will also help connect you with what is happening at school so you can guide those conversations with your child at home and ask them "tell me more about......". We had a wonderful first staggered entry day yesterday. Your children were absolutely wonderful and they did so great! Thank you for your help in prepping them for this milestone. Ask your child to share with you some of the things they learned about the kindergarten teachers. We worked on practicing printing our name and drawing a picture of us on the first day of school.  We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday September 5 during our regular kindergarten hours. I can give my best smile for picture day

We got our photos done today, it will be neat to compare them to our first photos we took at the beginning of the year. I can see how much I've grown! We have been working on a couple of letters this week. Parent Teacher Conferences The March conference is an opportunity for teachers to share learning progress with families and highlight key next steps in the learning progression for the remainder of Term 2.  Parents/guardians will book their 15-minute conference time on-line using their MyCBE/PowerSchool Account. I can celebrate Valentine's Day

Happy Valentines Day!  Today we decorated paper bags so that our friends could mail us valentines!  It was so much fun handing out special cards to all my friends.  Please check out the note that is attached to my bag for some activity ideas!
