I can make a story about 10

We have been working hard to learn about the number pairs that make 10.  We used our understanding of these number pairs to create word problems that make 10.  For example:  Today I went to the store to buy 8 apples, the store clerk gave me 2 more.  Now I have 10 apples.  8+2 makes 10!  Please ask me about the story I made today and practice with me at home.



Reminders:

-Wednesday June 19 - Bring a stuffie to school. As part of our learning of measurement in math, we will be measuring our stuffies in various ways.

-PM Kindergarten attends on Friday

-Please return all library books. We will not be having any more library book exchange for the rest of the school year.

  Hello families and welcome to our kindergarten blog! We will be updating this blog daily with what we have been working on and important information and updates about our class. Please check it regularly as this is our main form of communication with you. This will also help connect you with what is happening at school so you can guide those conversations with your child at home and ask them "tell me more about......". We had a wonderful first staggered entry day yesterday. Your children were absolutely wonderful and they did so great! Thank you for your help in prepping them for this milestone. Ask your child to share with you some of the things they learned about the kindergarten teachers. We worked on practicing printing our name and drawing a picture of us on the first day of school.  We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday September 5 during our regular kindergarten hours. I can give my best smile for picture day

We got our photos done today, it will be neat to compare them to our first photos we took at the beginning of the year. I can see how much I've grown! We have been working on a couple of letters this week. Parent Teacher Conferences The March conference is an opportunity for teachers to share learning progress with families and highlight key next steps in the learning progression for the remainder of Term 2.  Parents/guardians will book their 15-minute conference time on-line using their MyCBE/PowerSchool Account. I can celebrate Valentine's Day

Happy Valentines Day!  Today we decorated paper bags so that our friends could mail us valentines!  It was so much fun handing out special cards to all my friends.  Please check out the note that is attached to my bag for some activity ideas!
