Copperfield School Council is offering a free TELUS Wise workshop for Copperfield Parents/Guardians at 6pm tonight.  Many children are using technology and the workshop is designed to support Parents/Guardians to better understand topics including screen time, gaming, cyberbullying and more.  The presentation will be virtual and Copperfield parents/guardians can log on using a personal device to participate using the following link:  https://meet.google.com/bfj-poun-cms

We had another session with Elder Shirley and learned about some of the traditional dresses for dancing. Next week, she will be teaching us hoop dancing next week. 

In math, we learned about area. We looked at different surface area and use other flat objects (non standard measurement) to measure the area. For example we used trays to measure our table. Ask me to tell you how many trays covered the surface area of the table. (20) 


Homework: Find a flat object/surface and measure the area with non standard units. Send a photo to your teacher or let them know the next school day what you measured.

-Please return all library books. We will not be having any more library book exchange for the rest of the school year.

Our First Day

  Hello families and welcome to our kindergarten blog! We will be updating this blog daily with what we have been working on and important information and updates about our class. Please check it regularly as this is our main form of communication with you. This will also help connect you with what is happening at school so you can guide those conversations with your child at home and ask them "tell me more about......". We had a wonderful first staggered entry day yesterday. Your children were absolutely wonderful and they did so great! Thank you for your help in prepping them for this milestone. Ask your child to share with you some of the things they learned about the kindergarten teachers. We worked on practicing printing our name and drawing a picture of us on the first day of school.  We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday September 5 during our regular kindergarten hours. We got our photos done today, it will be neat to compare them to our first photos we took at the beginning of the year. I can see how much I've grown! We have been working on a couple of letters this week. Parent Teacher Conferences The March conference is an opportunity for teachers to share learning progress with families and highlight key next steps in the learning progression for the remainder of Term 2.  Parents/guardians will book their 15-minute conference time on-line using their MyCBE/PowerSchool Account. I can celebrate Valentine's Day

Happy Valentines Day!  Today we decorated paper bags so that our friends could mail us valentines!  It was so much fun handing out special cards to all my friends.  Please check out the note that is attached to my bag for some activity ideas!
