I can listen to a special guest teacher!

 Today was "Teacher of Day."  Congratulation to our top readers from the read-a-thon: Iqra, Luke, Chase, Bae and Jayesha!  These friends were our teachers for today, leading calendar, special Ipad time and taking us to the playground.  It was so much fun having our classmates as a teacher!  Our learning activity today was to use the Ipads and play on the app Starfall.  Starfall is as great resource to reinforce literacy and numeracy ideas we have been learning through play!



-There is NO SCHOOL on Friday

-Information about our upcoming field trip was emailed out this week. Please sign the acknowledgement of risk form AND library card form and return it to school by April 18. Thank you.

***SPECIAL FUNDRAISER INFORMATION:

Wilder Institute – Burrowing Owl Conservation

 

As participants in the Conservation Champions Festival with the Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo, the grade 3 students in Mrs. Moravec’s and Mrs. Price’s classes, have chosen to support and educate others on the burrowing owl. 

 

Copperfield School will be collecting donations starting on April 22nd through April 26th 2024 to raise money for the “Head Starting Program” that is aimed at caring for and protecting burrowing owlets until they are stronger, and able to be released safely into the wild as adults. Our hope is that we will be able to raise over a thousand dollars towards this program.

 

For every $2 donation, your child will earn a classroom ballot. After the fundraiser is over, we will draw a ballot and the winning class will get the opportunity to play a game of dodgeball vs. the teachers and staff of Copperfield! The more toonies your class brings in, the more ballots your class gets, and the more ballots your class gets, the better the chances of your class winning the opportunity to play dodgeball against the teachers!

  Hello families and welcome to our kindergarten blog! We will be updating this blog daily with what we have been working on and important information and updates about our class. Please check it regularly as this is our main form of communication with you. We had a wonderful first staggered entry day yesterday. Your children were absolutely wonderful and they did so great! Thank you for your help in prepping them for this milestone. Ask your child to share with you some of the things they learned about the kindergarten teachers. I can give my best smile for picture day

We got our photos done today, it will be neat to compare them to our first photos we took at the beginning of the year. I can see how much I've grown! We have been working on a couple of letters this week. Parent Teacher Conferences The March conference is an opportunity for teachers to share learning progress with families and highlight key next steps in the learning progression for the remainder of Term 2.  Parents/guardians will book their 15-minute conference time on-line using their MyCBE/PowerSchool Account. I can celebrate Valentine's Day

Happy Valentines Day!  Today we decorated paper bags so that our friends could mail us valentines!  It was so much fun handing out special cards to all my friends.  Please check out the note that is attached to my bag for some activity ideas!
