I can show kindness

Today is Pink Shirt Day!  We wore our pink or favourite shirts to stand up against bullying.  We made a promise to be kind and support one another! We practiced printing the letter K and how it stands for kindness!  Please ask me about all the different ways to show kindness.

The morning class got to watch the kindness assembly this morning.  It was amazing to see all the ways our school is working towards belonging and lifting each other up every day!



Read a Thon:

With a new season just around the corner, let’s SPRING into reading!   

Our 6th annual Copperfield Read-A-Thon will take place from March 4th - 15th and you can already begin to gather sponsors to collect pledges for books read by students. The amount that sponsors choose to donate is up to you! Throughout our Read-A-Thon, students will have the opportunity to participate in having guest readers join their classes virtually and in person. These guest readers may include a variety of readers such as CBE professionals, emergency service personnel, authors, artists, and athletes. Top fundraisers from each grade will be put into a draw for a prize. There will also be fun prizes for our top readers, including the chance to be the principal for a day! Please read through the pledge form that was sent home with students for more information on specific dates and how to collect cash or cheques from your sponsors and return them to the school. **Kindergarten will have a slightly different schedule than the rest of the school. All money raised will go to literacy resources for our school. We encourage all students to participate for the love of reading!

Our First Day

  Hello families and welcome to our kindergarten blog! We will be updating this blog daily with what we have been working on and important information and updates about our class. Please check it regularly as this is our main form of communication with you. This will also help connect you with what is happening at school so you can guide those conversations with your child at home and ask them "tell me more about......". We had a wonderful first staggered entry day yesterday. Your children were absolutely wonderful and they did so great! Thank you for your help in prepping them for this milestone. Ask your child to share with you some of the things they learned about the kindergarten teachers. We worked on practicing printing our name and drawing a picture of us on the first day of school.  We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday September 5 during our regular kindergarten hours. I can give my best smile for picture day

We got our photos done today, it will be neat to compare them to our first photos we took at the beginning of the year. I can see how much I've grown! We have been working on a couple of letters this week. Parent Teacher Conferences The March conference is an opportunity for teachers to share learning progress with families and highlight key next steps in the learning progression for the remainder of Term 2.  Parents/guardians will book their 15-minute conference time on-line using their MyCBE/PowerSchool Account. The CBE conference booking site will open to families to begin booking conferences on Thursday March 14 at 6:00pm.   Alien-inline Skating *Please have your child bring a helmet labelled with their name on it if they have one on their skate days. I can celebrate Valentine's Day

Happy Valentines Day!  Today we decorated paper bags so that our friends could mail us valentines!  It was so much fun handing out special cards to all my friends.  Please check out the note that is attached to my bag for some activity ideas!
