I can show the number 6 in many ways

We have been busy learning our numbers. Today we focused on the number 6. We have been learning to show numbers in many different ways. Ask me to tell you all the different ways to show 6. If I have dice at home, I can use this math tool to help me subitize. Subitize is being able to recognize  an arrangement of dots such as on a dice without having to count each dot. For example when I roll a 4 I know automatically it is 4 instead of counting with my fingers 1,2,3,4.

-Service Club Students  are asked to wear their uniforms tomorrow Wednesday November 8 as we will be observing Remembrance Day tomorrow. 

Veterans Food Bank

The Veterans Food Bank of Calgary is a service provided by CALGARY VETERANS SERVICES SOCIETY, founded in August 2018, to serve food security and other resource needs of veterans from Calgary and surrounding area. The Veterans Food Bank of Calgary supports veterans who served in all branches of the Canadian Armed Forces, Reserves and first responders.

Copperfield School will be collecting food donations starting on October 30 through until November 8, 2023. If you can donate food items, it would be greatly appreciated. Items that are urgently needed are canned meats and chili/stew, ground coffee, flour, cereal, Kleenex, pudding cups, canned mushrooms, juice boxes, granola bars, cookies, rice, pancake mix, hamburger helper, plastic wrap, toilet paper, mac and cheese, and spices. Thank you for your support.


-As the weather gets colder, please ensure your child is dressed properly for outdoor weather. This includes snow pants, jacket, toques, mittens/gloves. We have recess every Tuesday and go outside to the playground unless it is -20 below. 

-We ask that parents refrain from using the parking lot for pick up and drops offs, as it is a safety concern as students are arriving and being dismissed in that area.  There are many people in the area and may not be visible. We thank you for helping us keep our community safe!

  Hello families and welcome to our kindergarten blog! We will be updating this blog daily with what we have been working on and important information and updates about our class. Please check it regularly as this is our main form of communication with you. We had a wonderful first staggered entry day yesterday. Your children were absolutely wonderful and they did so great! Thank you for your help in prepping them for this milestone. Ask your child to share with you some of the things they learned about the kindergarten teachers. I can give my best smile for picture day

We got our photos done today, it will be neat to compare them to our first photos we took at the beginning of the year. I can see how much I've grown! We have been working on a couple of letters this week. Parent Teacher Conferences The March conference is an opportunity for teachers to share learning progress with families and highlight key next steps in the learning progression for the remainder of Term 2.  Parents/guardians will book their 15-minute conference time on-line using their MyCBE/PowerSchool Account. I can celebrate Valentine's Day

Happy Valentines Day!  Today we decorated paper bags so that our friends could mail us valentines!  It was so much fun handing out special cards to all my friends.  Please check out the note that is attached to my bag for some activity ideas!
